About Our Program
Our Beautiful Qur'an Journey is an exclusive, groundbreaking "heart and soul" program facilitated by internationally acclaimed author and teacher Umm Zakiyyah, along with a carefully selected team of UZ Ambassadors and qualified Qur'an teachers with ijaazah (official certification of prophetic recitation). Our ijaazah-holding teachers are certified in Hafs (via Tajweed and/or Hifdh).

Our Philosophy and Goal
Here, we believe that your Qur'an journey should be "heart and soul" centered, and should lay the foundation for a lifetime commitment to reciting like the Prophet (peace be upon him), for living an emotionally and spiritually healthy life, and for ultimately raising your rank in Paradise, bi'idhnillaah.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
What will I learn/study in each program?
"Our Beautiful Qur'an Journey" is rooted in supporting your ongoing commitment to connecting your heart and soul to Allah, to reciting and memorizing His Book in the way it was revealed, and to reflecting on the spiritual and practical meanings of His divinely revealed guidance. Below is a brief overview of each program:
Tajweed: This program is for beginners of all levels and is taught by a certified teacher of Tajweed (via Hafs) utilizing the original Qaaidah Nooraniyah book by Sheikh Raa'ee. Our Tajweed program begins with the Arabic letters and focuses on the proper recitation of Juz 'Amma (the last 30th of the Qur'an). Students who successfully complete this program have the option to enter our teacher-training program (based on their final score).
NOTE: Currently, we are accepting only ten (10) women into our Tajweed program.
Hifdh: Our Qur'an memorization program is designed for students who have adequately mastered the Tajweed rules and can read fluently from the mus-haf (Arabic script of the Qur'an) while correctly applying the rules of Tajweed. This program is taught by a certified teacher of Hafs (i.e. with an ijaazah). Students who successfully complete the memorization of the Qur'an have the opportunity to obtain their own ijaazah (official certification of prophetic recitation) based on their skill level. They also have the option to enter our teacher-training program.
All applicants to the Hifdh program are required to submit their recitation of the first page of Surah 50 (Qaaf) via audio. This audio file can be shared via a link in the above form or via email at [email protected] with the subject line "Hifdh Program Audio." (Please use the same email address submitted in the above form).
NOTE: Currently, we are accepting only five (5) women into our Hifdh program.
Tadabbur: The Arabic term tadabbur refers to sincere reflection or contemplation and is taken from the ayah in the Qur'an that has been translated to mean: "Do they not then think deeply in the Qur'an, or are their hearts locked up?" (Muhammad, 47:24).
Our Tadabbur program is taught by Umm Zakiyyah (along with carefully selected UZ Ambassadors and special guests) and is designed for students of all levels. Students selected for Tadabbur are committed to connecting to the Qur'an in a way that nourishes their emotional and spiritual health. The goal of Tadabbur is to inspire lifetime commitment to Qur'an-centered personal improvement in our daily lives. (NOTE: All Tajweed and Hifdh students are automatically accepted into Tadabbur).
Our Tadabbur program has three (3) facets and is rooted in supporting your lifetime commitment to nourishing your emotional and spiritual health:
(1) "UZ Soul Tribe" membership: This aspect of the Tadabbur program grants students an all-access UZ Heart & Soul Care pass to all courses and eBooks available at uzhearthub.com.
(2) Live Classes and Discussions: This aspect of the Tadabbur program includes any one or more of the following:
- UZ Live Masterclasses (for emotional, spiritual, and personal development)
- UZ Life Sharing (i.e. Umm Zakiyyah sharing parts of her personal journey in connection to how certain ayaat of the Qur'an inspired specific life lessons)
- Live, interactive discussions with Umm Zakiyyah and special guests
(3) Guided Independent Study: This aspect of the Tadabbur program overlaps parts of the "UZ Soul Tribe" membership and UZ Life Sharing and may include any of the following:
- Qur'an journaling
- writing for reflection and/or healing
- weekly or monthly assignments for emotional and spiritual nourishment and self-improvement
NOTE: Currently, we are accepting up to seventy-five (75) women in our Tadabbur program.
What is the cost of the program?
Tuition for "Our Beautiful Qur'an Journey" (which includes the "UZ Soul Tribe" all-access pass to UZ courses and eBooks at uzhearthub.com) is only $97 per month (for students whose applications are accepted). However, there is no application fee to apply.
Can I apply to more than one program?
When applying to "Our Beautiful Qur'an Journey" program, you have four (4) options:
- Apply to the Tajweed program only.
- Apply to the Hifdh program only.
- Apply to the Tadabbur program only.
- Request the Tadabbur program AND Tajweed or Hifdh.
In other words, anyone can join the Tadabbur program, even if they are also enrolled in Tajweed or Hifdh. You are also welcome to join only the Tadabbur program. However, if you'd like to join Tajweed or Hifdh, you must choose only ONE; you cannot be enrolled in both Tajweed and Hifdh.
NOTE: All students who are accepted in the Tajweed or Hifdh program are automatically accepted into the Tadabbur program and may participate in the Tadabbur program at no additional cost.
When is the deadline?
Priority acceptance is given on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, based on space availability, we have open enrollment. Thus, you may apply to any program at any time.
How do I know if I'm selected in the program?
After submitting your application, inshaaAllah you will receive an email (usually within 2 weeks) if you are accepted in your chosen program.
What is required to be accepted in each program?
Each program has its own unique set of requirements for acceptance and a very limited number of spaces (See program descriptions above). However, the primary requirement for acceptance in each program is to be committed to continuous personal improvement and to investing in your spiritual health.
(NOTE: Our Beautiful Qur'an Journey is only for women 18+.).
How long is each program?
Each program (Tajweed, Hifdh and Tadabbur) is scheduled on a recurring monthly schedule and ends at the time of student cancellation or by the request of the instructor or program administrator. However, the Tajweed program lasts approximately seven months, but may be extended or shortened based on the needs of the students or discretion of the teacher. Thus, generally speaking, you remain enrolled in your chosen program as long as needed, preferred, or requested by you or determined by your instructor/administrator.
Can I re-enroll after cancellation?
"Our Beautiful Qur'an Journey" is a very exclusive program wherein we select (to the best of our ability) only the most dedicated, committed students for enrollment. For this reason, we strictly limit the number of students we accept. Thus, if any student cancels enrollment before completing any program, she must resubmit her application and understand that priority will be given to previously waitlisted students and applicants who've never enrolled.
(NOTE: This policy does not apply to a student changing from one program to another. It applies only to students cancelling the program altogether).
What is your cancellation/refund policy?
If you are accepted into our program, your initial enrollment is covered by a 30-day refund policy (if your enrollment does not already include a 30-day free trial). Thus, if you are unsatisfied for any reason, you may cancel within 30 days from the time of your enrollment for a full refund (or before your free trial ends). Thereafter, you may cancel your recurring enrollment by contacting us via the UZ Heart and Soul Care site or via email at [email protected].
What if I face financial difficulty?
We currently have a long waiting list for full scholarships, but we do have limited partial scholarships available at this time. (Be sure to select the option for "partial financial assistance" when you apply).
Also, If you are already enrolled in any program and face financial difficulty prior to completion, contact us via the UZ Heart & Soul Care site or via email at [email protected] to discuss your options.
