What Is Emaan?

Emaan (also spelled iman) is an Arabic word that refers to the sincere, true faith of the Muslim, as manifested in daily worship and good deeds. (See additional info below).

Emaan can also be defined as authentic spirituality, as taught by Allah (i.e. God) through the Qur'an and the divinely inspired teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

Emaan is rooted in the fitrah (the natural, inborn spiritual nature of every human soul) and includes belief in all of Allah's revelations and prophets since the time of Adam (peace be upon him). Amongst others, these divine revelations include the original Torah given to Prophet Musa (Moses), the original Injeel (Gospel) given to Prophet Easaa (Jesus), and the last and final revelation of the Qur'an given to Prophet Muhammad.

May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all.
